Hopefully, the land will be transferred to the County and turned into park land.

The GOP brought the brooms out today.
November 3, 2009 at 11:58 pm | In City of Manassas, Prince William County, Virginia Politics | Leave a CommentAfter having suffered through back to back liberal wins, the GOP took back the Governorship today, and followed that up by winning the other two top positions. Jackson Miller as expected won reelection by a wide margin.
I was able to work a couple of hours at the polls and also attended the GOP celebration party at the Old Town Inn. Today was a great day for Virginia and the future is looking bright once again.
Election Day.
November 3, 2009 at 9:33 am | In City of Manassas, Prince William County, Virginia Politics | Leave a CommentIf recent polls hold true, Bob McDonnell will be our next Governor, and there is a chance the GOP will increase their majority in the House. Of course just winning the election is not enough. McDonnell will have to follow through on his campaign pledges and get our Commonwealth moving in the right direction. Otherwise, in four years, there will be another bruising election cycle if the GOP cannot show they have learned from past disappointments.
I’m scheduled to volunteer later today at the polls, so I’ll have a post later on what I saw and heard. Go out and vote.
History, Stonewall style | InsideNova.com
November 2, 2009 at 9:02 am | In Prince William County, Public education., liberalism | Leave a CommentWhile I’m in favor of saving and promoting history, I’ve got my reservations about this program. It seems they are cherry picking schools, by having requirements, such as the one listed, that schools must have 40% of the student body must be eligible for free lunches. Why, is that a requirement? Why not open it up to schools that show an interest in a particular aspect or subject of history? It seems they are looking for a particular point of view, rather then an honest look at history.

October 27, 2009 at 2:16 pm | In City of Manassas, Illegal Aliens, Prince William County, Uncategorized | Leave a CommentSome good news regarding gangs in NOVA. The on air report for the story also indicated MD is receiving some of those gang members chased out from VA and also pointed out the work between local law enforcement and the ICE as another reason for the drop. MD, on the other hand, has put out the welcome mat for illegals, and it shows.
Post endorses Jackson Miller’s opponent
October 27, 2009 at 8:18 am | In City of Manassas, Media bias, Prince William County, Virginia Politics | Leave a CommentIn another sign the post does not understand local politics is their endorsement of Jeanette Rishell. They call her “smart” and indicate she would be better at budget negotiations in Richmond, over Jackson Miller, who has spent three years in Richmond. Furthermore, they even admit Miller has shown a moderate streak, which is what they usually call for Republicans to have. But, obviously not when they are running against far left wackos, such as Jeanette Rishell.
Jeannette can’t even be honest about who endorses her campaign, can’t figure out there is no difference between a private gun sale at a gun show and one that does not take place at a gun show. She has made blunder after blunder. Yet, somehow the post feels she would make a better Delegate. The post should have just said we support very liberal candidates instead of trying to provide dishonest reasons to support her.

Meeting up with Jackson Miller.
October 24, 2009 at 2:18 pm | In City of Manassas, Prince William County, Virginia Politics | Leave a CommentI had the chance to meet up with Jackson Miller today, when he made an appearance at the Gun and Ammo warehouse in Manassas. The NRA also had a table in the parking lot. As usual, Jackson was very complementary of his opponent and is not looking past election day. I can’t say enough about Jackson and his focus on jobs, transportation, and families. I don’t have a problem stating he is going to win with a larger margin then he did last election.
In this case, the third time is not going to be a charm for Rishell.
October 23, 2009 at 9:23 pm | In City of Manassas, Prince William County, Virginia Politics | Leave a CommentThe MJM weighs in on the HOD race for the 50th district. Once you get by the mistakes of the Rishell campaign, there’s not much written about her. I’m sure the reporter wanted to do a fair job, but it’s a hard job when trying to cover a candidate as poor as Jeanette is.
Does she really think that all 5,000 new voters in the district will vote for her? If so, she really is out there. Though, I’m sure Jackson would not mind seeing her in 2012, since she’s such an easy opponent to defeat.

As expected the Manassas Journal Messenger has endorsed Jackson Miller.
October 21, 2009 at 2:31 pm | In City of Manassas, Prince William County, Virginia Politics | Leave a CommentIt’s not that big of a surprise Jackson received the endorsement, when you consider just how awful a candidate Jeanette is. She simply can’t keep track of what she has said in the past and seems to what to be everything to everyone.
As long as Jackson continues to demonstrate he can work on conservative ideas while keeping a bi-partisan bent, he will continue to win reelection in the 50th district. However, it’s pretty evident he’s looking at a larger role in politics. I’d like to see him run against Chuck Colgan, or at least the seat when Colgan decides to retire. Also, Jackson is young enough, he could take a run at Lt. Governor in the next election cycle as well. As an elected official from “Northern Virginia” with ties to South Side, Jackson is well suited to make a run at such a position.
Nearly 2,000 suspected illegals in Pr. William sent to feds | Washington Examiner
October 14, 2009 at 1:56 pm | In Illegal Aliens, Prince William County, Uncategorized | 1 CommentI’d say Prince William County was very smart in deciding to join the 287G program. Two thousand illegals are no longer roaming the streets and sidewalks of the County. How many additional crimes were prevented because of the program? Of course that can’t be answered, but, I know I feel better with fewer illegals running around.
It’s also has to be a blow to those that either openly support illegals, or were against the program, to see the number of illegals that were caught due to the program. The inflammatory language used by some during the public hearings leading up to the program also now don’t hold water either. As far as I know known of the “fears” of those using such language came true.
