The Commonwealth released graduation rates and the City drop out rate is 11.8% which is the highest in the area.   To make matters even worse and maddening, the students we waste, err, spend the most money on, esl students have a whopping 40% drop out rate.  Not much return for money spent. 

Of course too many members of the City Council just want to ignore the illegal alien issue and the poor results from the schools by saying they really have no say in the matter.  

I have not heard any response from the school board, though, I’m sure they are just happy the  drop out rate is not higher.
